Many larger offices have their own custom AutoCAD menu. In order for everyone in an office to use the same menu, either everyone must use the files directly from the network or the menu files must be copied to everyone’s local harddrives. For the first option, if anyone is using the menu files, they are locked, and cannot be updated by the network administrator. With the second option, any changes by the network administrator must be redistributed to everyone’s workstation for changes to take effect. Menu Update 2002 solves these problems. When Menu Update is run, it will automatically check to see if the network copy of the menu has been updated. If so, it will either prompt the user to update the files, or it can automatically update the files without the user knowing. Menu Update then resides in the tray and can be called upon to check for updates at anytime. Options allow for multiple locations to copy the master menu files to as well as control over which file extensions to update.
This system tray program helps reduce computer eye strain by reminding the user to take a break from staring at the CRT and focus on a distance object and get up and stretch.
